Ice Cream Shoppe Scented Sharpeners and Erasers

The design is really cute, but the whole box smelled TERRIBLE. At first I thought it was like the dill pickle scented erasers where the scent was bad but intentional, but I recognized the odor quickly. This is definitely a manufacturing problem because the smell is TOXIC plasticizer. I've unwrapped all the individually wrapped cones and am airing them out, but I've had this problem before and airing out doesn't always work. The scents are supposed to be chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, mint, orange, and blue raspberry but all smell the same just toxic fumes.

I was so excited to receive the box of ice cream sharpeners to give as little gifts for a kindergarten class. They are adorable! However, when I opened the box I was thrown back by the noxious smell of fumes coming out of the box. It was bad! Im not a sensitive person when it comes to smells but it was bad. I know they are supposed to be scented and I assumed that scent was supposed to be of candy or vanilla but that is far from what this was. I cannot in good conscience give little kids this product and its a shame because they are adorable.
